Volunteering FAQs
What volunteering roles are available?
We have a range of volunteering opportunities at Spinal Life, from administration tasks for our day-to-day services and programs, to short-term or one-off opportunities for key projects. We’d love your help and are flexible to fit around your life.
Recent volunteering examples include collecting data about accessible features in the community and coordinating member meetings, to name a few. We are also seeking helping hands for our Healthy Living Centres in both Brisbane and Cairns, which includes our Fitness Hubs in these locations.
Where are volunteering opportunities available?
While we are primarily looking for volunteers in Brisbane, we are also seeking expressions of interest to support us in our offices in Bundaberg, Cairns, Perth, Rockhampton and Townsville. From time to time, opportunities may become available in other areas.
How much time would I need to volunteer?
We welcome volunteers to work the hours they have available. We’ll work with you whenever you are free to share your time with us – and we’ll identify a meaningful way for you to volunteer.
Do I need any qualifications or employee checks?
You don’t need any qualifications to volunteer with us. However, to work or volunteer at Spinal Life, you must complete a NDIS Worker Screening Check, which is provided at no cost for volunteers. Additional skills, training or clearances may be required, depending on your role.
