Current Opportunities with Spinal Life Australia

A career at Spinal Life Australia is one full of purpose and passion.

Whether you’re working directly with our customers in the community, or are in a vital office role, you’ll be joining a team of passionate professionals committed to empowering the lives of people with a disability and creating a more accessible and equitable Australia.

A career at Spinal Life offers you rewarding experiences, opportunities for career advancement and professional growth. We foster an innovative and caring culture that is cemented in our values of innovation, authenticity, honesty, and collaboration.

We are Spinal Life Australia: a team of health care workers, activists, researchers, volunteers and friends all committed to changing the way disability is seen and creating a fairer Australia.

You know you can have a meaningful impact in the lives of many. We recognise this because we feel the same way. Let’s make a difference together.

I was eighteen when I started as a Personal Support Worker with Spinal Life Australia and felt unsure of where I was going in my career. Five years on, and I couldn’t be more grateful for where I am today. I really enjoy working for an organisation so passionate about its purpose. It is incredible to see so many dedicated and driven people come together. My favourite thing about working for Spinal Life would be the amazing support on hand. I cannot express the love I have for the work that I do every day – not just because of my clients, but because I get to proudly represent such a great organisation.

Tiegan-Rae, Personal Support Worker

As a person with disability myself, I feel that my employment with Spinal Life Australia has given me a platform from which I can use my lived experience and qualifications to bring about positive change in society. My role has allowed me to advocate for and provide advice to Government, peak bodies, businesses, and other stakeholders in improving access and inclusion for people with disability across Queensland. As exaggerated as it may sound, some of the work we’ve been able to do has resulted in a significant change in the way some these organisations do business! The work we’re doing is as rewarding as it is worthwhile… and we’re not done yet!

Dane, Senior Advisor – Access, Advocacy & Grants

I’ve worked for Spinal Life for just over two years. My role is challenging and rewarding and different every day. I like that I work for an organisation that makes a real difference in the lives of the people that we work with. I manage teams of people across the region who are all committed to getting great outcomes for the people in our communities. Being located in a region, I still have great support from my managers and the corporate support teams in our Brisbane office. The bottom line for me is that the whole organisation is focussed on working together to make a positive difference in people’s lives.

Margaret, Regional Manager

Spinal Life Australia is an inclusive workplace and a fantastic place to work. The management team are understanding and flexible and support my continuing professional development. The team are dynamic and work collaboratively towards the shared vision of the organisation. The culture is always positive, and there are always smiling faces and good vibes. Working for Spinal Life Australia means I can assist members, clients, and people with disabilities to live their best lives.
