The Assistive Solutions Expo is back for 2018 with a brand-new venue, new guest speakers and new range of innovative technology on display.
The free event will showcase the latest in assistive technology and equipment designed to increase the quality of life for people with a disability at all stages of their life journey.
This year, the Expo will held on Saturday May 12 at a new, larger venue – the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre in South Bank.
Guest speakers will provide all the information you need to know on the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and My Aged Care, as well as useful advice on bladder and bowel care.
You’ll also be able to hear from a cyber security expert on how to protect your online finances and security and listen to the personal journey of Queensland’s first doctor with quadriplegia.
Spinal Life Australia Chief Executive Officer Michael Powell said the Expo was a great chance for people with a physical disability, their families and carers to find new and innovative ways of improving their day to day life.
“While people with a physical disability will have shared experiences, no two journeys will be exactly the same,” Mr Powell said.
“Everyone has their own set of personal needs for their current situation, which is why it’s important the Expo features a diverse array of exhibitors and equipment.
“Our last Assistive Solutions Expo was held in 2016 and that was by far our biggest one yet.
“We’re hoping this one is going to be even bigger.”
The 2018 Assistive Solutions Expo is held by Spinal Life Australia and will run from 9am until 4pm.
