Luke is a Cairns local who worked in civil construction before his world changed when he sustained a spinal cord injury in a motorbike accident in 2015.
He soon realised the power of positive thinking as he faced a new set of challenges that come with returning to the community and living life from a new perspective.
Luke has been spending time on the Gold Coast to undergo essential rehabilitation work and while he’s making positive progress, he’s hoping the construction of the Healthy Living Centre will allow him to return home to his family and friends back in Cairns.
Your MC for the evening will be Sharee Verdon, radio announcer for Star 102.7 and host of Sunday Mornings with Sharee.
After travelling the world and realising there is no place she’d rather live than Cairns, Sharee started working in radio where she’s been for the last three years, hosting many local events in that time.
She’s a passionate sports fan and aspiring novelist who loves spending time with her friends and family and enjoying the sights of what Far North Queensland has to offer.
