Supports and services funded by the NDIS

Spinal Life Australia is a registered NDIS provider supporting people with spinal cord damage and other physical disabilities, permanent or temporary through a range of specialist services.

How Spinal Life Australia can support your NDIS plan

Navigating the NDIS can be tricky but you don’t have to do it alone.

Our Supports Coordination team can help you get the most out of your NDIS plan and plan reassessment, giving you more freedom and independence to achieve your goals.

Our Advocacy team also provides assistance to Spinal Life Members to help prepare for their NDIS plan reassessment meetings.

You can also use your NDIS plan to access funding for specialist services including*:

  • Personal care at home and in the community
  • Occupational Therapy for access to assistive technology prescriptions, aids, equipment and modifications
  • Physiotherapy
  • Exercise Physiologists
  • Peer Support
  • Short-term accommodation

Contact us to find out more about using your NDIS plan to access our services.

Pricing for NDIS services

At Spinal Life Australia, pricing for all our NDIS services reflects the guidelines that have been set by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).

This information is provided in the NDIS Price Guide, which is reviewed annually to ensure prices continue to align with market trends and ensure they provide value for money for participants.

The NDIS Price Guide 2020-21 was released on 1 July 2020 and included price increases in therapy, attendant care and community participation, as well as the introduction of the Temporary Transformation Payment (TTP).

The TTP is aimed at assisting eligible service providers with costs associated with transitioning to the NDIS, by allowing them to charge a higher support price for attendance care and community and centre-based activities.

As an eligible provider, our prices include the TTP for all applicable services, as we continue to transform our service delivery and meet new requirements set out by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission

The independent NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission works to improve the quality and safety of NDIS supports and services.

It is available in New South Wales, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, the Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, and the Northern Territory.

Western Australia will have access to the NDIS Commission from 1 July 2020.

Participants are encouraged to contact the NDIS Commission to raise a concern or make a complaint, with the aim of improving the quality and safety of NDIS supports and services.

To find out more, visit www.ndiscommission.gov.au or call 1800 034 544.

Am I eligible to become an NDIS participant?

If you are between the ages of 7 and 65, have Australian residency, and have a permanent and significant disability such as spinal cord damage, you may be eligible to sign up for the NDIS.

You can access an NDIS eligibility checklist here.

If you live in Queensland and your disability was the result of a motor vehicle or work-related accident, you may be eligible for funding under the National Disability Insurance Scheme Queensland (NIISQ).

If you are over 65, you may be eligible to receive funding from My Aged Care.

For more information about alternative funding sources, visit niis.qld.gov.au or myagedcare.gov.au.
