Voting results
In the 2020 Annual General Meeting, held on Thursday 26 November at 10am, Spinal Life Australia members voted, both online and through proxyholders.
The outcomes were:
- In the election of directors, members voted for the following two successful candidates, who are both current Board Directors required to submit for re-election:
- Mark Dillman
- Professor Phillip Morris
- In the appointment of Spinal Life Australia’s new auditors, members voted in agreeance with the Board’s selection of KPMG.
- Members voted to recognise Dr Ben Lawson (posthumous) and former Chair Alan Ashford as Honorary Life members, for their exemplary service to and support of the organisation.
- Members also voted to officially waive the membership fee, after it was temporarily waived by the Board earlier in the year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
All votes, including proxies and through the online platform, were managed independently by Link Market Services, the external company we engaged to conduct this year’s meeting, which was held virtually for the first time.

About the AGM
For the first time, Spinal Life Australia’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held as a virtual meeting, making this important event more accessible than ever for our community.
At the meeting, we presented a summary of the organisation’s activities and financial results for the 12-month period ended 30 June 2020.
Attendees also heard more about Spinal Life’s new strategic direction, which will guide our activities and set clear goals to achieve our mission of supporting accessible, equitable and empowered lives.
