Active Gym re-opens as COVID-19 restrictions ease

Andrew Jamieson and Ben Griggs work out in an Active Gym training session with Exercise Psychologist Elise Reddicliffe. This photo was taken in January 2020.

With Queensland’s coronavirus restrictions easing as of 1 June, we’re happy to announce the Healthy Living Centre’s Active Gym is open again for visitors and members.

We are continuing to follow strict hygiene regulations at the Centre and its facilities for all staff and visitors, including:

  • Additional hand sanitiser stations and hospital-grade wipes for use by gym visitors and staff
  • A limit of 20 visitors in the Active Gym at one time as per current Queensland Government guidelines
  • Ensuring visitors and staff are following the 1.5m distancing requirements whenever possible
  • Regular cleaning and disinfection of equipment, facilities and rooms.

Please note, due to staffing requirements under current regulations, the Active Gym will be temporarily operating under reduced hours – 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

We are also hoping to commence gym classes at a later date.

The Active Hydro Pool is currently open by appointment only, while our accommodation and Allied Health services are continuing while following hygiene and distancing practices.

Our Active Gym features a range of fully accessible, state-of-the-art cardio and weight training equipment for people with varying levels of physical disability.

While we are always welcoming of visitors to the Centre and Active Gym, we must ask that if you are currently experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms to contact us via phone or email instead of in person.

You can reach us on 1300 774 625 or enquiries@spinal.com.au
