Anyone is welcome to become a member of Spinal Life Australia. Under our Constitution, members may be invited to the Annual General Meeting to have a say in our future direction. They receive a copy of The Advocate, can join our member networks and are entitled to discounts on equipment hire.

Types of Membership and Fees

Ordinary Member
To be eligible you must be at least 18 years of age, and you must have a primary disability that is due to an acquired spinal cord injury, either by accident or disease (which includes a person who has had polio); or not less than 18 years of age as at the date of the application and a parent, spouse, sibling or child of an individual whose primary disability is or was the consequence of an acquired spinal cord injury, either by accident or disease.

Associate Member
Any person is eligible; however, associate members do not have the right to vote.

Junior Member
To be eligible you must be under 18 years of age at the date of application and you must have a primary disability which is due to an acquired spinal cord injury, either by accident or disease (which includes a person who has had polio). Junior members do not have the right to vote at any general meeting. Consent of a parent or legal guardian is required when applying for junior membership.

Life Member
To be eligible you must be an ordinary member (or you must be eligible to apply for ordinary membership and you must identify your type of disability above)
