Member Networks

Member Networks allow people throughout metropolitan and regional Queensland to share experiences around having a spinal cord injury, the late effects of polio or Transverse Myelitis. Such forums also provide members with the opportunity to share information and peer experiences, advocate for change, and raise and address issues that impact on their daily lives.

Member Networks is the overarching name given to three distinct groups coordinated by the Spinal Injuries Association’s Community Relations department: Spinal Injuries Networks, Post Polio Support Networks and Transverse Myelitis Networks.

In total there are 20 groups throughout Queensland. The network leaders – known as Facilitators and Convenors – have dedicated an impressive 170 years of volunteering to the networks between them. Members live life to the full, stretching the bounds of possibility and sharing a wisdom born of experience.

These Networks help to develop effective linking and networking between members and the Association. Such positive support empowers our members to live life to the full and actively participate in their communities.
