SEAT at WORK

Building on the successful school-based program which has seen more than 1.5 million students in the last 25 years, the Spinal Education Awareness Team (SEAT) is now taking its messages into the workplace.

SEAT presenters are all volunteers who have spinal cord injury and use a wheelchair, and they’re passionate both about injury prevention and increasing awareness in the community about what it’s like to have a disability.

We offer two programs:

• one focuses on injury prevention and is ideal for people who work in professions such as the construction, mining, utilities, and transport and storage sectors; and

• the other focuses on disability awareness  demonstrating how best to communicate with someone who has a disability to ensure they remain a valued customer or client. Pictured left is Robert after speaking with trainee drivers from Yellow Cabs about disability awareness.

For more information, or to invite a SEAT presenter to your organisation, please contact the Manager – Injury Prevention Programs via email seatatwork@spinal.com.au or on (07) 3391 2044.
