The Spinal Injuries Association supports a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). A NDIS is a no-fault insurance that provides funding for people with a disability for personal support, therapy, aids and equipment, home modifications, and employment training. Most importantly, a NDIS would assist everyone with a permanent disability, no matter how, or when, their disability is acquired. Read more.

Hugh Banney, Convenor of the Brisbane Post Polio Support Network and Honourary Life Member of the Association, has retired from his position as Convenor after 10 years in the role.
Hugh has given unfailing dedication to his role, taking part in various working party groups and showing a passionate commitment to representing members of the Brisbane Network (which he co-founded). In 2009, Hugh was awarded a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow for ‘tireless campaigning and education about polio’.
Hugh feels the time is right for him to contribute as a member to the Network while passing on the leadership to someone else. The Association wishes him well and thanks him for his outstanding service and contributions over the past decade.
