Totally Wild host totally inspires volunteers
They say never work with children or animals, but after doing exactly that for five years, Totally Wild host Pip Russell (below at front) shared her unique advice this week with Brisbane volunteers, who have been working with children for the past 23 years.
The Channel Ten personality and former Toasted tv host generously donated her time and experience to speak to Spinal Education Awareness Team (SEAT) presenters, who all have a spinal cord injury, and inspire Queensland school children on a daily basis. Coincidentally, Pip, who is now 24, still recalls seeing a SEAT presentation when she was a 12-year-old Jindalee State School student.
Among other items, Pip and the team of volunteers swapped ideas on how to best attract and hold the attention of children for more than five minutes at a time – not an easy task in anyone’s language!
