Letter to the Editor: Sign your support to show that ‘Every Australian Counts’

On 31 July the Productivity Commission will deliver its final report into a long-term care and support scheme. We don’t have much time left!

I’m asking local residents to please show their support for the proposed National Disability Insurance Scheme and sign the online petition at www.everyaustraliancounts.com.au.

As the peak body for Queenslanders who have spinal cord injuries, we know how much this scheme would support the hundreds of thousands of Australians who currently have disabilities – and also those who are born with or acquire a disability in the future. You never know when you or a loved one will need it.

The one minute it takes you to sign the petition could mean a life-time of support and assistance for many Australians in the future. It’s long overdue.
