Boggo Road Busway Alliance – Transporting Goodwill

The Spinal Injuries Association was delighted to accept a donation of $7,500 from the Boggo Road Busway Alliance in February.

The donation will help support the Spinal Education Awareness Team (SEAT) to continue to share valuable safety and injury prevention messages with school children around Queensland.

The funds were raised largely from on-site vending machines as well as a commitment by Alliance supplier — Work Sense Safety and Workwear — to donate funds for the recycling of work gloves.

The Boggo Road Busway Alliance, which consists of Thiess, Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM) and Queensland Transport, is building the Boggo Road & Eastern Busway (PA Hospital to South East Busway).

By the end of 2009, the busway will connect the existing South East Busway to the University of Queensland at St Lucia and once complete, will reduce the number of buses using local streets and significantly cut travelling time.

The Spinal Injuries Association is delighted to be selected as the project’s charity of choice.
