World Polio Day 2019

We’re marking World Polio Day with a line-up of informative guest speakers, who are ready to share their expertise and answer your questions.
Leading rehabilitation specialist Dr William De Mayo will present exclusively via video link from Abu Dhabi to answer questions from members about living with the late effects of polio.
Other speakers on the day will include:
- Amy Nevin, Dietitian, Princess Alexandra Hospital (Spinal Injuries Unit)
- Lili van Zyl, Social Worker, Mater Misericordiae Ltd
- Susanne Rea OAM, Polio Eradication Advocate
You can also meet Spinal Life’s new Chief Executive Officer Mark Townend AM, who will be officially opening the day.
World Polio Day takes place on 24 October to commemorate the birth of Jonas Salk, who led the first team to develop a vaccine against poliomyelitis.
