We are proud to be Queensland’s peak body for people with a spinal cord injury, and for people with the late effects of polio. We are a membership-based organisation, representing thousands of members and clients around the state.
There are many benefits of becoming a member of the Association, including:
- having a voice to government
- assistance with submissions for funding
- membership services
- up-to-date information about available community services
- Imprint bi-monthly magazine
- member forums.
We have four classes of membership:
- ordinary members
- life members
- honorary life members
- associate members.
Anyone may apply to become an associate member.
If you are at least 18 years of age and a Queensland resident, whose primary disability is due to sustaining a spinal cord injury (either by accident or disease – which includes people who have had polio), you may apply to become an ordinary member or life member.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the Association, please download an Application Membership Form (PDF, 255 kB).
For more information, please contact the Association.

In 2008 the Toowoomba Post Polio Support Group launched their shoe exchange program.
By purchasing Spinal Injuries Association pens you can help us to enhance the lives of people with a spinal cord injury while proudly displaying your support.
